Default rewiring a harness, or change?heeelllllllllllppppppp!!!!!!

I have a d16y7 block/head with a d16y8 manifold ecu and harness. does anyone know what i need to do to get it to run right, it wont pass 5500 rpm's. guess its a v-tec issue since i dont have it anymore. does anyone know if i can rewire the y8 harness to work with the y7 head/block so it will pass 5500 rpm's?i put the y7 ecu but it doesnt work right, i think i need to rewire the harness, any ideas fellas?
