Find a local tuner to chip your ecu and he can program what you want and maybe optimize your fuel map

I know where your coming from though I had an 86 prelude si that I ran on a 1/4 mile asphalt oval and was on the limiter for the last 50-60ft of the straights. Went through 3 head gaskets due to overheating and predet before the head bolt(which Honda no longer makes) stretched to far to use but won some races before it died.

Needs to be chipped, BUT you need to make sure you have parts to support your higher or non-existing rev limit. Otherwise you will have valve float and eventual complete engine failure (dropped / kissed valve = whole rotating assembly destroyed as well as head).

That has nothing to do with the rev limitations of the valve train. However, you did eliminate the problem of the weak rod bolts and connecting rods.
