Default Rev Speed meter/vtec controller question

I currently have a data systems vtec controller fitte to my integra P72 ECU, and i have just picked up a last generation apexi RSM for $50 un-used. The vtec controller came with full plug'N'play harness, but i have to wire the RSM into the ECU myself, there are some wires that both the controller and the RSM both use, could this cause problems, ie, the same wire being tapped into twice. I'm not 100% sure which wires yet, but i would imagine the VSS wire and some of the ignition wires may be common to both, could i **** things up by tapping into both these wires??? I need the controller as i have just bought CTR cams and will need to up the vtec x-over point, i dont really need the RSM and will sell it on if it wont work if the same wires are tapped into twice

I have both the Apexi V-AFC and the RSM on my car. Most of the wires that had to be tapped in were the same. I haven't had any problems and it has been 18 months since I've installed both. Just make sure you solder your connections and don't use inferior connectors such as t-taps.
