Default rev low ......help please

i got a CRX i've try everything but the motor will not rev over 4000 rpms i can't figer it out pleaase help

check your distributor, ecu, some of the engine groudns is the vehicle throwing any codes what mods are on the car what motor how many miles?

ok the car is an 88 crx HF with the 1.5 8 val.. motor with M.P.F.I. the car has 193456 mile on it change out ecu 3 or 4 time it has good ecu in it all grounds are good too ecu is not throwing any codes no mods are done to this motor factory.........need more INFO please ...........

Make sure the spark plug wires are snug and not loose. Check the spark plug wires on the distrubitor and make sure they snug as well. Recheck the grounding points on the tranny, battery and vavle cover and make sure they're snug.

so are you saying it sticks at 4k and dosent increase in every gear or just 1st? or is it acting like your hitting the rev limiter?

i sometime goes to 3000 in 1st and 4000 in 2nd and so on.............. the map senor is 294.99 so i will not be getting a map senor ...i give up dammmmmmmmmmm

once had some of the plugs switched around and wouldn't rev past a certain point. Dealt with TPS, MAP and sensors around there. Might just be a suggestion, but are you sure the check engine bulb isn't out, lol, cuz I know when i had this problem, CEL would go off. Check your wiring for those things and see if that works. Sucks how plugs are interchangeable.

thanks but i have the right plugs in it not no if light is bad but i left comp in the floor no code are showing
i'm lost .......
