Rev limiter problems.
Does anyone happen to know when the rev limiter is suppose to kick in on a 96 Accord w/ 4 cyclinder vtec? I cannot go past 3, 250 rpm without it knocking it back down. When I bought the car I did a timing belt job on it. The check engine light came after that and the code was for the crank sensor. I rechecked the timing on it and it is exactly where it should be. Is this sensor the cause of my problem or is there something else going on?
The sensor did have some black buildup on it when I did the timing belt job so I wiped it off. However it did get wet when I pulles the water pump. Could this have anything to do with it? Or when removed it to clean it could it have gotten out of whack with the crank pulley?
