I had the same problem, no cat. and no resonator, it sounded like crap and loud, so I installed a resonator wher the cat. went, worked very well. 94

And how long should I get it I've seen 10" 25" 30"s the have a lot of sizes. Does the size effect the sound that much?

My car is like this:
header-gutted cat-resonator-glass pack. It sounds pretty good, the hollow cat is effing with my backpressure a lil bit though. I think that cherry bomb glass packs are the way to go, really rich sound!

I would get the longest resonator you can fit.

and yes the shorter it is the less effect it will have on noise reduction.
