Default Resleeve and boring B16a to 84mm...

wondering what displacement will this yield and if the head needs to be deshrouded to match the block. this is an idea i'm tossing up, resleeving with Golden Eagle and boring out to 84mm, and using JE high compression pistons. will i need new rods as well, or stock rods are ok?? also, where to get a head gasket that will fit? Thanks for any inputs!

If youre sleeving, go with a 85mm bore

You will get 1756cc

its a mid size 1.7 liter honda would consider it a 1.8 though. well you have a choice on the combustion chamber.
1. higer compression with the smaller combustion chamber.
2. better air flow with the bigger combustion chamber.
new rod bolts will help new rods are better though.

ok, if i can find a B17a crank (i've been told that a B17a is a stroked B16a, correct?) use that plus boring to 84-85mm, will that net to roughly 1.9L or even 2.0L?? and yes new rod and head bolts will be used (ARP ) also there is still the issue of keeping the stock rods or upgrading them... Thx!

1838cc's will be the 81mm stroke of the b17a with the 85mm bore. the 81mm crank will raide your compression.the b17a rods are 131mm and the b16a's are 134 so you could calculate it out to see the compression.

Huh??? Rods and crank do not influence CR!

Unless you had rods that are too short for your crank and block combination, longer ones would then increase CR.

That's what he is saying, hence the reason he gave the two rod lengths......

Well then he must have been drunk when he wrote this.
