Replacing wheel studs - How To?
The thread on a couple of my wheel wheel studs is 'rounded off' and I am having a hard time putting the lugnuts on. I was thinking of replacing them with stock ones, but am not sure on how to do it.
I have taken the rear wheel/hub assembly in the past, and had taken apart most of the front ones. I don't know how to take the studs out, or put in new ones. Could someone please give me some pointers on how to get this done?

Well once you have the disc off the car it's fairly simple. With the old studs, I'd just get an old lug, put it on the top of the stud in question(assuming it's still somewhat intact) then pound it out the back. With the new studs you naturally must be a bit more gentle. I like to put these in as far as they'll go then put several washers on the stud. Put a lug on there, oil the whole mess up and tighten the lug. This will pull the stud into place without any damage.
He is Correct, Take a BFH (Big Fu#$ing Hammer) whack the old ones out they are just pressed in.
Yes be more gentle on re installing the new ones. Washers help, or use an old spare rim, put all the new lugs in and tap them a little to get started then put it on the old rim and tighten the whole mess up.
Poof you are done.

yeah then get really really angry when u find out that its stripped out on the threads that go into the hub. i am waiting for two new hubs because im gay and dont know how to torque bolts when i put on my lugs
I fail to see what your sexual preference has to do with it. Don't you use a torque wrench? I think the #1 mistake inexperienced mechanics make is thinking everything has to be cranked on, till it can't crank no more.

The hubs are not threaded, the studs are pressed in. I am not sure what the hell you are talking about.

I think he's saying he destroyed the splines that hold the studs in place...if I'm understanding correctly. I'd think that would take a tremendous amount of force and the stud would break long before that happened though.

How about start from just the wheel being off?
What are the washers for? How are regular washers going to keep the wheel stud from spinning, when tightening/loosening lug?

You put several washers on and oil them up before you tighten a lug on there. Then when you tighten the lug it pulls the stud into place on the hub. It's a very old trick, often used to remove bolts with a broken head and one end protruding.
If you put a lug on there and crank away, chances are the stud will go on anyway. It'll require more elbow grease and whatever is between the lug and wheel hub(if anything) will not like your attitude. Just makes it a bit easier.
u just hammer at the stud and it will push out.......
the reason you put washers on it, is most likely the lug nut will bottom out before it gets to the Hub, so putting washers on it will bring it out giving the lug more room to tighten and press the stud into place
