Default Replacing Tranny Synchros

What are all the parts needed to rebuilt a tranny to new condition? Where is the best place to get these parts? My tranny is grinding 3rd at high rpms and I need to fix it. I also have a motor mount that is messed up because the motor flexes alot on launches and when slowing down it jerks. What mount do I need to replace?

The parts needed to rebuild a tranny really depend on what's worn in that particular tranny. It's best to pull it apart & see what gears & synchros need replaced & go from there. You'll also want to replace all the bearings & seals for a rebuild. But realistically, if you're only having a problem with third gear, you could just replace whatever's bad - synchro, or the gear itself - and be on your way.

I posted about getting some synchros & the best reply that I got was to call a local dealer, so I can't tell you the best place to get the parts.

You'll have to visually inspect the mounts to see which one/s is/are bad. If one is bad, it'll probably be one of the lower mounts. It'll be cheaper, (& better performance-wise), to just get some poly inserts as opposed to buying new mounts. If it's one of the upper one's, there's no cheap way around it because they don't make poly inserts for those & they're liquid-filled.
