Removing power steering PUMP only
So far. after my swap I left the pewor steering belt off so no P/S for me.. waht I want to do now i s remove the pump.. I dont want to remove everything and cap off everything as I still want to be able to slap th pump and belt back on whenevr I feel like it. question is. Iw as looking at the pwoer steering fluid lines. here's waht I've coincluded
goes from tranny to pweor steering pump, then after the pump the lines go off the pump and down to the front grill for the pwoer steering colant thingy then coems backa round and back to the tranny. question is. can I just totally remoe the pump and connect the line taht goes from the tranny an connect that to the lnie taht coesm otuta the pwoer steering pump? so absically.. 2 lines and P/S pump in between. can I jsut remvoe the pump and connect the two???

your power steering lines should be going to your steering rack not your tranny... unless mines different than yours...
And just fyi... if you remove the pump and just leave the hoses sitting there:
A. it'll look ghetto
B. all sorts of crap will get in there and if you re-attach the pump it will probobly go bad pretty soon after.
C. it'll BE ghetto
You could probobly figure out a way to loop the in/out lines from the rack and also loop the lines in/out of the resivour... it shouldn't be that hard... But I definately would NOT suggest just leaving them hanging as is once dis-connected.

yeah I know.. that's why i said I'd connect the two lines that were on the pump together so that it flos in a complete circuit kinda thing... jsut wodnering if anything wrong with doing that. I woulldn't leave hoses hanging un connected
when i did it i removed the pump and looped the lines into each other.. also drained a little p/s fluid to ease up on steering.. nothing wrong with this set up as long as nothing gets into the lines and theres no leaks and such.. oh and when you loop the lines together the fluid wont flow in a complete circuit, itll just sit there like a lake of water
THIS IS WHAT I WANTED TO KNOW. thankyou. so I may as well go ahead and drain it all .. some minor weight reduciton like what.. hahaha thankyou!
no dont drain all the fluid.. you can drain the lines and reseviour but leave some down in the rack.. you still want some lubrication when you steer or the parts will wear away very quickly
