Default Removing Powder Coating.

I have had some items powder coated in the past and want to remove the color.
Are there any chemicals that could strip powder coatings?

try some low odor aircraft remover. stuff burns like hell when it gets on ur skin, but it strips metal like a beast. you should be able to get it at a pep boys or something like it.

The easiest way to get it off completely is to take it to a powder coating company and have it burned off.

You reverse the baking process of the power coating by freezing it, then it will turn into powder again and fall off, easiest way.

If its steel, best thing to do is bring it to a media blasting company and have it burnt off than blasted off. If its aluminum have it chemically removed than blasted, or blasted with plastic media/walnut shell. You cant thermally process aluminum to burn powder off.
