Default removing coolant pipe

How is the coolant pipe removed from the back of the block?

Remove the lower radiator hose from the thermostat housing, unbolt the thermostat housing, pull thermostat housing off of coolant pipe, and lastly pull the coolant pipe from the block.

In some motors, you have to remove the oil cooler and knock sensor to give you room to wiggle.
