Default Removing Automatic Flywheel

Ok so i purchased a D16Z6 motor that was originally bolted to a Automatic Tranny. WELL the motor came with the Automatic Flywheel thingy (forget what its called) and i need to remove it. BUT the problem is that the motor also came without a crank pulley and its hard to remove those bolts holding the automatic flywheel on becuz it will move when i try to unbolt them. How would i go about removing this Automatic Flywheel?

BTW: I have a Crank Pulley from my old D15B8 motor that i can put on the Z6. Is there another way to remove it with the crank pulley installed?

Its called a flex plate. Use an impact gun and off it will come.

What the hell kind of an impact gun are you using? Its going to rip those bolts right out, not turn the crank!

Im not using an impact gun, i do not have one. And when u try and unscrew the bolts the Flex plate turns as well. THATS what i meant to say. SO if i were to use an impact gun it would TURN the Flex plate too. SO i was curious as to HOW to keep the flex plate from moving while trying to unscrew those bolts to take the flex plate off.

You are not listening to what people are telling you, or you simply don't understand. Using an impact gun WILL work and no it WILL NOT turn the flex plate. Do you know what an impact gun is? I've been doing this crap for years and can assure you that the flexplate/crankshaft isn't going to rate if you use an impact gun thats even remotely worth a damn.

OK OK sorry jeez its my first swap and all im new to all this excuse me. And yes i do know what an impact gun is...its just that when i tried to unbolt those bolts holding the flex plate on the flex plate rotated at the same time i was trying to unscrew the bolts. thats all. And i guess i will have to invest in an impact gun and air compressor. Any suggestions? for a Cheaply Well priced one? lol

If you're trying to do it with hand tools, you'll need a friend to hold it, or buy this bad dog.

You might be able to rent it from your local parts store, but I don't know if anybody rents that specialized equipment.

That "bad boy" will only work if you actually had a flywheel on the car to hold. Not a flexplate.

I'm kind of surprised you didn't consider putting a bolt in the block, and just tying some wire or rope through one of the holes on the flex plate onto the bolt in the block.

Yea that does sound like a good idea about tying some wire to it. And i already know about the Ring Gear Holder, i couldnt find one for the Flex Plate tho.
