Default Remote coding problem

Hi, I've just bought a tidy 2004 Accord estate. The range for the remote lock is very poor, I have to hold the key about 6 inches from the front screen( even with a new battery in it) for it to work so I bought a new transmitter to put into the key. The supplier referred me to a you tube video which showed the on-press-off x4 method of coding which I tried several times without success. When i decided to give up I found that the existing key no longer activated the locking . It looks like i have now coded this key out and if I lock the door mechanically ,when I unlock mechanically the alarm siren triggers and the hazards flash . I disconnected the 12v battery and left it disconnected for 30 min before reconnecting but it's still the same. After several more attempts to get it to recognise the original key the siren doesn't trigger when I unlock the drivers door but it does trigger as soon as I open any other door .Help ! I can't use my car !
