Default Relocation of battery question

For all those who have relocated their battery to the trunk, did you use some sort of in-line fuse, just in case the wire that goes from the battery to the starter becomes frayed and contacts the chassis somewhere? If so, what amperage fuse do you use? Thanks in advance.

yeah you should
use big gauge wire
i started with 8 gauge and it wasnt enough to energize the starter so i had to add another line in parralel to get it to turn over

I am using a big guage wire, 4 guage I think, it's from an extra set of jumper cables I had lying around. That's not the problem, it turns right over. My question is was what amperage fuse should I use in case the wire wears through somewhere?

I noticed the fuse in the fuse box under the hood for the battery is only 80 amps. Can you explain this? I was assuming that most people that have relocated their battery have added a fuse for safety. Maybe I'm wrong.
