Default Reccomended VTEC engagement point?

I have a 95 jdm SiR2 engine, with aem cai, skunk2 intake manifold, jdm 4-1 header, 2.5" piping with a hi flow cat, and a spoon n1 exhaust. I also have a apexi v-afc, the vtec engages at 5,900rpms currently, and I think thats a little high, any reccomendations? Also, I have a fpr and I was wondering what I should set my fuel pressure at with the vaccum line disconnected?

Thanks,
glock

5900 sounds high to me too. I have mine set at 5700 because I have CTR cams but with stock cams I think 5000 +/-200 is closer. Some chips like mugen will give you 4800.

Go to the dyno, tune it and find out! That's the best answer there is. Remember that every motor is different.

I understand that the dyno tuning is the best option, but I don't have the funds for it right now. I was just looking for a guideline.

Go out and drive it around changing the vtec engagement point as you go. If it snaps your neck when it engages, it's too high, if it bogs when it engages, it's too low. Find the middle ground with the butt dyno.
