Rebuilt Motor CEL
Okay so I'm at like 115 miles on the break-in everything is going okay except for my frickin oil pan gasket and return line leaking but thats another story. The main thing going wrong is when I go up close to 4000 rpm my CEL comes on giving me a knock sensor code. A few times when i would bring it to about 3500 rpms and let the motor decelerate itself it would pop on down around 1500 rpms??? I had an ignition timing problem with the motor upon first start due to the distributor. the shop fixed it and said i was good to go on the break-in. It runs really good, idles great. kinda feels lopey or a bit jerky on acceleration but nuthin really crazy. one thing me and my girlfriend noticed was when i pull over, turn it off and restart, it would come back on at almost 10 minutes from the previous time ??

well, the knock sensor is basically just a mic. So it could be detecting piston slap/chatter from the forged internals. Are you currently running a turbo, or is it not on the car yet?
hmm I had heard about piston slap and assumed it was like psycho builds that it occured on....high comp all that good stuff. But sweet. yeah the tubro is on but the wasegate spring is out. actually i changed it ad the spring is back in and the charge pipe is off with a filter on turbo and TB. thanks for the reply.
