rebuild?

So, Im looking to buy a car. (used) Chances are it's going to have quite a few miles on it so I'm thinking of rebuilding it before it has a chance to breakdown on me. I'm considering a 94 integra rs (b18a...am i wrong?)
First off, on a car with... lets say... 100k miles on it, what are the basic things i should replace first?
Secondly, what are some good reputable sites where i can buy the parts from?
Thirdly, is it possible for someone who has little to no experience with working on an engine block to do any of the rebuild?

First off a 94 RS has a b18b1 and is actually harder to find than any other Integra (Type R included) due to not having a sunroof (which is good).
Next, nothing says that high milage is a justification for a rebuild, there are many engines with well over 100k and still going strong because they've been taken care of and many engines with far less than 100k and desperately need to be rebuilt.
Next, if I were going to rebuild it, I would go ahead and do some performance work with the block. You may not want to get it sleeved but a set of Eagle rods and b16a pistons (or maybe SRP forged pistons) are inexpensive and practical to install due to the increased durability of forged components and the higher compression of the b16a pistons. Also a set of ACL bearings would be recommended, they're affordable and perform better than the stock ones.
If you have no experience with engines then I suggest you take it all to a shop. If you have some experience and are good with tools (meaning you won't break anything) then you can probably disassemble the engine yourself (note: if you plan on keeping the stock internals please label which cylinder each piston and rod came out of).
The possibilities are endless and limited only by the size of your bank account. Have fun.

Well... I just so happen to be in the middle of a rebuild on the cousin of the B18B1, the GS-R B18C1, and I have to say that if you are looking for factory Honda parts, AND know all of the Honda part numbers, you can pick up pretty much every one of them good discount at http://www.hparts.com, if the parts are not directly used on a USDM HONDA vehicle (HParts only carries USDM Honda stuff, so if it is used only on an Acura (like a GS-R intake mani gasket, for example), then they don't carry it), then you can get Acura only parts at a discount over the dealer at http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/. They have all of the same pics that the dealers use online (they are a Acura dealer that jumped into the internet parts sales business...), so you can just select the parts from a numbered pic and get a pretty good deal. Service from both companies is excellent, and you should receive your parts in like a week or less.

Ok Ok Ok Ok, RS are vtec??? I dont know **** so dont flame me. Could anyone tell me the stats of the RS motor. I have never really thought about RS before and am planning to be buy a GSR very soon.
RS is non VTEC but is the single best candidate for an LS/VTEC conversion due to already being light weight and devoid of many of the unnecessary systems commonly found on the LS, GS, and GSR. The RS has the same b18b1 that the LS and GS have.
