Rebuidling b20b4 bottom end
Hey guys, I got a b20b4 with 270k miles, I also got a b20b head with 40k.
So I want to rebuild my bottom end and put the b20b head on it.
So my question, where should I go for parts and what should I get.
I want to do Rings, bearings, water pumps, and of course a new headgasket
What brands should I use and where should I find them? Should I go oem? Thanks guys

If your just planning on running it with a B20 head then just go to a local Honda/Acura dealer or hop online and order the OEM parts. The only reason I would suggest going Aftermarket would be if you planned on doing a built B20vtec swap or similarly intensive full B20 build. In that case I would recommend ACL bearings, and ARP hardware for the head and rod bolts at a minimum. I would also suggest at a minimum if you intend to use a stock rod set to have your machine shop shot peen them. It's usually inexpensive and gives you a little extra strength/insurance when revving higher than the rods were originally intended.
What fuel do you intend on running? If you run a 1000cc injector (or run the **** out of your 700s) and tune on E85. I could see you being able to easily make 350whp @ ~15lbs. I would prefer the lower comp short block for a boost build, and neither of the stock B20s are amazing when it comes to big boost and strength, but I've seen upwards of 400 on a well tuned Z short block w/ ITR head. Unsure of what cAms were in it. I personally run Skunk Tuner1s on my current NA B20V and outside of Vtec they handle pretty much just like a stock GSR cam but are slightly more aggressive than CTRs after the crossover.
