Default Reassembling Axles.....Boot Strap?!

When I was pulling the motor and tranny out of my Prelude, I had 2 other guys helping me clear stuff out before pullin the motor out. When the axles were pulled out, we didn't pull the whole CV joint out from the tranny, we just undid the metal tie strap on the boot, on the tranny-side, and pulled out that much. The three little bearing-things on the inside of the boot came out, but now I'm gonna have to clean those up and put them back in when reassembling.

The metal tie-straps don't look "standard", and I'm not sure if they're reusable.....should I reuse them? Is there somewhere that sells them?

you really should have pried the entire halfshaft out rather than removing part of it. if you don't clean and then regrease all of it properly the life of those halfshafts will be alot shorter. you can use heavy duty tie wraps to hold the boot on, just make sure every oil change you check them or replace them.
