Rear wiper lagging when cold?

I've noticed that the colder it is outside, the more of a "lag" time there is from the moment when I turn on the rear wiper switch to the moment when the rear wiper actually starts moving. I'm not talking about ice, like it's not frozen up or anything, but I mean just at any temperature. In the summer the rear wiper will start moving almost instantly when I turn on the switch, but in the winter, it can take 10 seconds or more before it finally starts going. What could be causing that?
the switch...judging by you name this is in a 94 gsr, hondas have a problem with the grease they used in the switches around these years....if your handy, you can take out the switch, take it apart carefully, clean all the contacts with solvent to get the gunk off, reapply some dielectric, reaasemble and your back in business...you usually see this kinda problem in the light circuit switches

hmm I've never had a problem with the light switches. Even the front wipers work fine (no lag ever no matter how cold). It's only the rear wiper switch, which is like a collar down around the middle of the stalk that you turn, if you're not familiar with Integras.
colder weather causes higher resistance. you could have a corroded connection point somewhere in the circuit and when its cold it just increases the resistance even higher which could cause a delay. i would start by isolating parts of the circuit and checking the resistance so see you can spot the issue.
