You're right, it's not the strongest material in the world, but it should help in my case to hold the bolt in from the other side until i am able to secure the nut to the other side.

I would by no means try to JB the upper control arm to the frame.</TD></TR></TABLE>

so how accesable is the other side of the frame, i know its hollow, but is it possible for 2 people to complete the job ?/??/ and just an update, the guy who is working on my car is going to use helicoil on it...........so i guess i wasted my money for him to do som, ething that i can.

It is possible, it's just going to be time consuming and a pain in the *** to do. But, in my situation im going to have to do it this way.

I wish mine wasn't as fucked up so I could use helicoil. How much is this guy going to charge you, you should find out and if it's expensive i'd recomend getting your car back and doing it yourself.

haha, I've though about that too, but it's just not a good idea. I would just get it fixed. What ever happened to that guy that was going to fix it for you?

SEpt 15, 2004 and my car is finally finished. I had to drop the gas tank and drill out the upper control arm holes. Then I put the bolts through and secured the upper control arm. What a major pain in the ***! I'm just glad its done. amen

The same problem happened to me when i was doing camber kits. I was able to drill out the hole and there was enough room behind it to thread a nut onto the bolt that came through. you obviously need a longer bolt than before. i havent had any problems.

yeah, it was alot of work. I think the most time consuming and hardest part was draining my gas tank. I had a 3/4 full tank so that was a bitch to put up with all the fumes. At one point I thought I was going to pass out lol. Removing the tank was easy, after that I had barely enough room to stick the drill in and make the holes.

everything is holding up fine now, car is running good. This took me so long due to number of reasons... lack of tools/ lack of help/ waiting for help/ then saying f this im doing this myself.

shes all good now though
