is it possible to remove and replace a rear motor mount without dropping the motor?

Yes, it is very possible...kind of a bitch the first time though.

I would think it would be similar to a d series rear mount. If I am wrong, I am wrong...just trying to help.

Some of the bolts are probably a bit different...but it should give you the general idea of how to do it.
