Default Rear ended. Pics Inside

Rear ended!!!
Insurance company looking at it in the next couple of days
Value approx. 5k

Pictures are not the greatest but can see the whole rear floor pan twisted enough the throw hatch alignment of. Also front bumper reinforcement slightly bent from tapping car in front of me.
Fix or write off?

Depending on year and trim level, condition of car, "appraised" value.

If it can be fixed for less then it would be to replace it, [comparable car] they will fix it, if not it will be written off, also depends a lot on how good your insurance is. 94

That kind of damage would mean a new spare tire tub and rear panel and frame rails.

Where in Canada are you, what type of insurance did the person who hit you have? 94

You got rear ended, their insurance will pay for your damage, [and theirs].

How about the person you got pushed into, that will be on you and your insurance, unless the person that hit you was reckless, [speeding, did it on purpose, over-driving road/weather conditions].

It is always the persons fault who ran into the back of someone, unless they are backed into. 94

That depends on the jurisdiction your in, here in BC your expected to stay far enough back that you can't be pushed into the guy ahead of you, if not it's your fault, unless it can be shown that the driver that hit you did something other then just braking late, [speeding, not braking, illegal lane change and so on], also here you can get 50% of the blame, with the guy that hit you getting the other 50%, but then again if you have "RoadStar" coverage you can be the guy that hit the OPs Integra, get 100% of the blame and pay nothing, not even the deductible, "accident forgiveness" the insurance company, ICBC, [gov. insurance] pays for everything.

huge230 I showed your car to a few body shop estimators, [we do A/C service for most of the body shops in town] and they all agree, it depends on the value of the car, all also agree with you that the cutoff will be between $3000-$4000, none could say for sure how bad the damage is by just looking at the pix. 94

got ya, here in the states we have the 50/50 fault. but for some thing like this it would surly be the driver that started the acadints fault.

as for 600$ fora bumper spary, insurance gets a price break from the body shop. they dont pay anywhere near what we pay.

But sometimes the insurance cuts you a check for the median estimate and its up to you which body shop you take it to.
Maybe a cheaper autoshop or maybe more expensive
