Really need dust boot for shocks?
I recently installed GC's on my Si with Yellows. I put the dust boots back on all 4 corners after having no trouble with them with my comptech springs I had prior. With the car riding lower, the front 2 boots got alll twisted up and are completly useless. How important are the boots?? Im not even sure if I can get the boots from the dealer, even so, I wonder if its worth the hassle?
I don't know anyone that has ran them after installing new springs personally. I have left the dust covers off and all my cars. You will need to cut them if you want to leave them on, or they'll bottom out with the shorter spring. You'll be fine without them.
I use them, KYB makes them I believe. I put them on my Tokicos to keep dirt out of the strut pistons! I would recommend using them. I got all the crap from carparts.com.
