really high fuel pressure
since the other day my fuel pressure is really high. that morning it was 45psi at idle. by that night it was 70psi at idle. its got me confused. the b&m fuel pressure gauge is good i thought. i took off the aem regulator and put a factory one on still the same thing. checked all my vacums and pulled the spark plugs and they was'nt soaked with gas. does'nt seem to run bad but that pressure reading has me worried. i have a rebuilt ls if that makes any difference. do you think the gauge is bad could it b something else. any advice or suggestions would be appreciated since this is driving me crazy
I run the marshall fuel guage and absolutely love it. No problems out of it and you can find it in the sponsor section.
Can't remember if alchemist or someone esle was selling it.

If you have a plugged or crushed fuel return tube, it'll behave just like that. And it'll still do that with a new FPR.
Got a MityVac?
Take off the FPR, reverse the MityVac so it pumps pressure (not vacuum). Pump into the fuel return line. It should pump air back into the gas tank without much resistance.

where could i get one. that's deffinatly a good idea. how would the line get bent or crushed it was fine. thanks for the advice ill check it soon as i can get one of those vac's
Well, the fuel return line goes along the bottom of the car, back to the tank. All you gotta do is kick up a stone in just the wrong place. Or bend the return line to fit a non-stock FPR & put a kink in the line.
Get a MityVac at your favorite AutoZone or wherever. But all you really need is some way to pump some pressure into the fuel return line. Even a bicycle pump with some clever way to attach it...

If the return line is plugged with something, it'll just get worse.
Another way to check is disconnect the FPR from the return line. Put a hose on the FPR where the return line was, & put that in a gasoline can. Start the engine & watch the fuel pressure. If it's OK NOW, that proves it's a problem in the return line.
