Random Starter Problem
OK. I go and start my car tonight two times and it fires right up, zero problems.
I notice I've got a fuel leak so I shut it off and fix that. Then when going to start it after fixing the leak it does nothing. Hold the key in the start position and the starter clicks once and then the fuel pump just continues to run.
I have 12v trigger @ the starter, as well as a constant 12v source.
Trans. ground is good, and I have also tried grounding the starter housing directly, with no effect.
Jump power directly to the starter and it clicks a single time. I swapped starters (what a pain in the *** w/ a deist trans blanket) and try again. Same thing. Neither starter will spin over when hooked up outside of the trans either. The motor also spins over freely by hand.
Any ideas?

You didn't exactly say the other starter was NEW... Sounds like both are bad.
Did your swapped starters include their own solenoids? Or did you just swap the starter motor. Then it sounds like the solenoid is bad.

I swapped the entire starter.
When wired up outside of the trans, both starters spin and crank fine, both with the key and with a 12v trigger from the battery. The motor spins over by hand with no problems.
Clutch/Flywheel combo is an Exedy Twin Disc.
