RANDOM AXLE NOISE
ok so i was driving and all of a sudden my streeing wheel began to shack. then i heard a noise much like a bad CV joint. went into a parking lot drove around in a circle to see if i could hear teh noise nope no noise. get back on the road and everythin is fine, little later same thing happens. also if i push teh gas pedal then it shacks and makes the noise but if i let of the gas adn just coast still in gear or out of gear evrythin is fine??? im lost have no idea whats goin on. just so you know its aN EJ1 with obd1 GSR swap everythin is stock but bolt ons and a clutch. adn i checked everythin out and it seems to be fine

there are many different reasons might cause this problem.
1st check your engine/tranny mounts to make sure they are not loose.
did you drive your car around in the parking lot in the reverse gear? If the noise gets louder, when you're in reverse and back up in a circle, the outer joints is bad.
also your wheel is out of balance might cause this problem. usually it occours between 45-60 mph.
over all, a more likely cause this kinda of problem is a bad inner or outer tripod CV joint. The vibration or noise occurs becuase one of the three roller tracks has become dimpled or rough that every time the tripod roller on the bad track hits the rough spot, it creates a little jerk in the driveline.
