As far as making brackets, I haven't. However, don't ever buy knock off seats/rails, or corbeaus which I added to my ****-quality list, unless you don't care about safety. I had two corbeau's in my car til as week, two welds on the driver seat bracket snapped when I was leaning back to get my wallet in my back pocket in a Wendy's drive through. Not abused either, my car is only daily driver/occasional auto-x, seats used, brackets were BRAND NEW only a year old or so and purchased through an authorized dealer. I know Corbeau's are on the cheaper end, but I didn't expect that cheap. I would recommend buddy clubs as I found them very comfortable, but you can't go wrong with any reputable brand like sparco, momo, recaro, etc. You can usually find excellent deals on seats on craigslist or the marketplace, but buy with discretion. You should, however, buy through an authorized dealer if you have the option, too many knock offs around.

I only have experience with sparco, buddy club, and corbeau, of the three the sparco was the highest quality, but the buddy club was the most comfortable, once drove 13 hours straight and had no problems with back pain, being uncomfortable, etc.

The biggest thing I would suggest is do research, read reviews, user experience, etc. and make an educated decision based off your research, don't buy part X because Billy Bob or Joe Schmoe said it was the greatest thing ever or because it will get you mad JDM points
