Default quick valve train question

ok in my b16a valve train. all the rockers cannot swing individually of each other except a little traveling motion. i noticed on the inside of all of the rocker arms (side facing VTEC rocker arm) that there is a silver pin that sticks out preventing them from swinging completly beyond the vtec rocker arm. well on one set, only one of the rocker arms is missing this pin. is this a big deal. i figured once the cams are installed the bitch aint gonna be able to swing up high enough anyways to matter. i couldnt find it on the honda parts list?

i have never seen that problem, but you should be ok.
the vtec rocker motion is controlled by the lobe and the lma.

im not sure about that one...im THINKING it may cause the two rockers to bind or rub each into each others sides

well i dont knw about that. all 3 lobes strike all 3 rockers at the same time so they move in sync regardless of vtec being engaged or not.

Put the pin in, you need it.

most people are saying i dont need it. thats a pretty vague response "put it in you need it" i cant buy it unless i buy the whole rocker assembly, they dont sell the part seperately! tahts 185$$

are you talking about the pin that locks the rockers during VTEC? the silver cylindrical pin that sits in the holes of the rocker?

If so, dude...you need this! I would expect many people on this board to have one of these avail from a junk head or in their parts bins.

no im not that retarded. ive figured out that its just basically a service pin so that when you are working on your valve train, you cant swing them up and the VTEC pins pop out cause it makes it difficult to put them back down side by side.

i dont know what you man. but i have talked to a shop that i do find respectful and said that they have seen them with and without them. just keeps the rockers from swinging to far and making the vtec piston pop out. this cant happen with the cams in place.
