quick valve adjusting question (did search)
hey all... i just want to make sure that what i think is intuitively correct is actually correct. i've got an 89 crx si, stock d16a6. in the manuals and several messages, it explains that, when adjusting valve lash, you start at tdc for cylinder 1, then rotate the crankshaft (through the wheelwell) 180 degrees counter clockwise to do cylinder 3, etc.... well here is what isn't spelled out.
i've got a stock cam gear with 3 "tdc" ticks and an "up". now, for cylinder one, it is on tdc when the middle tick is lined up with the plastic tooth, and "up" is actually up. now, can i assume that 180 degrees counter clockwise will put me on the next "tick"? Also, what about the next 180 degrees? should the word "up" be aligned? then the final tick?
i know this seems obvious, but this is the first honda i've adjusted, so just being extra careful!
thanks guys/gals
