i just bought a used but mint vafc and i was wondering whether it would be safe to wire it up to a 00 SI with just i/h/e... like i wasnt planning on messing with the vtec until i do cams and other motor work, but to just have it wired up and running, would that cause any type of motor problems? i asked a friend of mine, and he told me it would make my car slower or some bs like that...

 

If you just hook it up, it wont do anything but show you rpm, speed, whatever you want it to show you. Itll only start changing things if there is an adjustment map already in there. Make sure you reset it before you start your car.
