I was just wondering, when you go to a dyno and you adjust your cam gears is there a way to calculate how much to adv./ret. or do just "play" with them and see where the pwerband goes??
I have a pooor mans r setup with stage2 skunks and i just started playing with the cams gears, so far i have done +2/-2. -2/+2 and they are now set at +2/+2, feels aight but i know it could be better just wanted to see if anyone else had some suggestions.
thanks in advance!!

You can degree the cams to put the centerline of the lobes where it "should" be, but sometimes you can have luck by moving it a bit from there. Can't really go wrong with degreeing it, but it seems most people just throw cams in and go without even doing that much.

I have no one around here that has really done it honda's all been v8's n stuff.
So if i was to get the center line that's how it's supposed to be, thats where the cam gears should be??

Ideally, yes. The V8 guys will know about degreeing cams, all of them do it, although it's a lot easier on a pushrod motor as you have lots of space and an easy way to attach the degree wheel.

yea thats another problem i would hate to pull the motor, i mean there is prob enough room but it would prob be a pain in the *** to line the degree wheel up
and i don't know of a way to mount the degree wheel
so is degreeing the same on a v8 as opposed to honda's?
