Default Questions Galore

Bunch of questions in this post

Back story:: http://www.myspace.com/icespitter
I have just obtained my first Honda. 95 Civic DX coupe with a d15b /w lsd tranny, hydro clutch, short shifter, dc headers, short ram intake, lowered on its nuts and stock hollowed out exhaust. Ive owned it for maybe a month now. It is definitely my project car and I plan on a GReddy turbo kit and rebuilding the engine, just to have it like new for the boost.

I am new to tuning but have already done a lot of work on the car and plan on doing a lot of the upcoming work myself.

Firstly, I want to remove my a/c. I searched the forums here and did a quick Google search and couldn't find too much. Was curious if anyone could do a "for dummy's" version so I don't kill myself with refrigerant. Also If the write up or response could include what belt to use as a replacement.

Secondly, if there is a way to relocate my radiator can I possibly move it to the center or the opposite side. When I close my hood it keeps the hood from closing all the way. So it looks kinda ghetto.

Thirdly, I want to remove my window washer reservoir whats the easiest way to do this? I dont have the sprayers and dont plan on replacing them as I live in florida and it rains every 12 seconds.

Fourth, I want to extend my air intake a little further down to where my radiator was to get better air flow into it.Would this be a good idea? Will it bring in more air since it is down by the grill? I also want to do this for cosmetic purposes so either way Ill probably do it. Also can I setup some custom heat shielding between the engine and the air intake to keep the air cooler near the air intake? Or is it more work then its worth?

Fifth, should I replace the gaskets each time I take off any part requiring them? For instance I want to paint my valve cover. The engine has a little less then 50000 miles on it. Should I replace them? What about if I polish my headers? Or paint my intake manifold? The gaskets aren't expensive or anything but I could use that money elsewhere.

Thanks to whoever manages to answer any of these questions...

People relocate the radiators in Civics to accommodate different engines, like the K20, so that would be easy, just fab up some mounts for the bottom of the radiator and a bracket to hold the top pin, hoses might be kinda difficult though.

Gasket replacement is a good practice, but if the the gasket is swollen and is not hard, replacement is not required.

The windshield reservoir can be removes by removing the top bolt holding the filler neck, and removing the bumper and also removing the 2 bottom bolts and it should slide right out.

You can remove the A/C system from the engine bay, and then cap off the cooling element in the car by capping the two pressure lines going in from the firewall, if you want to remove it all, that would require removing lots of panels and screws from the interior to get it out. You will need to find shorter bolts though to keep the A/C torque mount, it is not a necessary mount, so that is up to you, personally I would remove the whole thing, 92-95 Civics without A/C did not have this mount.

You can run the air intake there, people do ram air hoods all the time. I would run it there for a while and see if stuff gets stuck to the filter, road dust and other particles will also be able to find their way to the filter that much faster.

Thanks a lot for all the information! I really appreciate it.

I should be able to do all the myself, now.

By the way are you located near Pittsburgh or Butler PA by any chance?

Have lots of family from Pennsylvania...
