Default Questions Before I Begin Motor Swap

i am about going to be doing a gsr swap in my friends honda as soon as he decides what he wants. he is eiter going to go with a 5th gen civic hatch or a 3rd gen integra. i want to make sure i have all my facts straight after doing hours of research on this topic. i am a dsm owner and have done a j-spec 4g63 motor swap, numerous tranny swaps (this is where i wish my tranny was built like a honda's), and am always working on them. here is what i have come up with for swapping a b18c motor: motor, hydro tranny(Y80), axles, ecu(P72), and the shift linkages. How is my list so far? I also have a few other questions:

- this will be a direct bolt-in in the 3rd gen integra(i would assume so)?

- i've read that this will only directly bolt into a 5th gen civic hatch si beause it has 4 motor mounts, whereas the cx/dx have only 3 mounts...is this true?

- does the vx 5th gen hatch have 4 motor mounts because this would be easier as it is pre-wired for VTEC?

- will i need a GS-R wiring harness to complete this swap?

- what if i get a 95+ GS-R motor that is OBD-2 and my friends integra is a 94 with OBD-1? what will i need to do?

- anything else i will need to watch out for during this swap??

thank you everyone for any help you can offer me. i greatly appreciate it and i have spent all night just researching and studying every possible tech article i could find. now it's time for some sleep!

one more thing i forgot to ask...

- any difference between the B18C and B18C1 when doing this motor swap (besides 10hp and little torque and a 10.6:1 vs. 10.0:1 compression ratio)? i know a jdm motor dealer who can get him a B18C j-spec motor for pretty good deal, but is it any more complicated to hook up than the us-spec B18C1?

Thanks again!

1) i've read that this will only directly bolt into a 5th gen civic hatch si beause it has 4 motor mounts, whereas the cx/dx have only 3 mounts...is this true?

2) does the vx 5th gen hatch have 4 motor mounts because this would be easier as it is pre-wired for VTEC?

3) will i need a GS-R wiring harness to complete this swap?

4) what if i get a 95+ GS-R motor that is OBD-2 and my friends integra is a 94 with OBD-1? what will i need to do?
1) cx/dx/si/vx all have 5 mounts. You'll need the gsr lower a/c mount, top timing belt mount, rear engine mount, and preferably the front tranny mount. If you don't want to buy the gsr front tranny mount you can ghetto-rific drill a third hole in it like I did and it will work.

2) see above

3 and 4) no, you can either add the wires necessary or you can buy a gs-r wiring harness, it is your option

5) you'll need a gsr obd I ecu

On another note, I'm in the DC area and may be able to help out if you need an extra set of hands. Just depends on my schedule and all. I've done these swaps before...

if you don't mind, would you post your email address so i can contact you. that way i can get your phone number privately and call you if any help is needed. it is nice to see people lending a helping hand these days. when i learn enough to be competent with doing motor swaps, i will feel the same way and want to help other people out as well. thanks for the answers to my questions as well. hope to talk to you soon.
