Default question of relocating battery..

i have been doing my research on this an reading thread on this forum along with others an google before i get flammed lol..

but anyway. my battery is just the stock battery for now, but i do want it out of my engine compartment, i am aware i need a sealed box, but it also has to be vented to the outisde. so anyone know how i could go about this? .. i mean does it actually have to get alot of vent/breeze? .. or could i just get the sealed box, put my battery in it (thats not a sealed battery) .. take like a drill, maybe drill a half inch sized hole in the side bottom or wherever, stick a hose in the hole, seal it so no battery gas gets in my car only in the hose, then i believe there is a hole in my trunk area where my spare tire used to be, where i can see the ground put the hose through that hole, and seal that as well?

thank you,

i know it sounds a little ghetto, but if the hole is already there miles well use it lol, but if im mistaken an its not there im not going to cut a hole in my trunk lol.. if you have any suggestions feel free unless its flaming.
