Default question for the experts...

ok...about a month ago i took the spark plug wire cover off, and as i loosened the nuts (or though i did) i broke the bolts. so me being not so smart, just thought i coulnt use the wire cover anymore, not then realizing the bolts also tighten the valve cover. So now im leaking oil from a loose valve cover. i should have the bolts and nuts to fix it on friday. acura had to order them. my question is, just about a week ago, everytime i hit vtec, a cloud of white smoke spues out from the back of the car. prolly from the exhaust, but i havnt actually been back there to tell...so could the fact that my valve cover is loose cause white somke to come out of the exhaust? i checked the compression a short time before this started happening. at that time it was 230 240 235 230. i guess i should check it again. could the valve cover being loose cause valve wear, or blow a head gasket or somthing? any enlightenment would be appreciated....

thx
Dave

It could cause dirt and other debris to get into the engine\valvetrain which is not good.
