but i wanna try to pass with a swap. i heard of people passing with swap at the ref but im not sure what a motor needs to pass the ref inspection.

Motor must be same year or newer.
Must have no codes.
Must have good idle.
Must have documentation stating that the ECU you are using is for that motor.
If JDM, must have all smog equipment of USDM equivalent.
