here is a second image i found in the WWW the engine looks the same but as you can see there are differences in the down-left corner...

Please help me with the engine on the first image . I cannot finda any clear info about those engine , I am searching for 4th hour now...

UP UP UP - I got 3 day...
I am wondering about the big HONDA label on the top of it - I guess it is 1 gen ZC but it is bolted on 4th gen civic.
Can someone tell a guess about the year of the ZC ( the big honda label on the top I think is for 1st gen ZC )
And - yes it is DZ it is not d16....DOHC, the stamp is ZC

so -> when the second has vacuum advance timing ( pre OBD )
Does it mean that the first engine(the one I am buying) is supposed to be with electronic advance timing OBD0 ?
Infact I think that there is possibilty the engine to be 1st gen ZC with vacuum advance timing , converted to electronic advance timing , but as far as I know the distributors are not interchangeable so I am starting to wonder again ...
Are there any browntop ZCs with electronic advance timing?

i never saw one with vac advance timng. that thing on the other cam next to dist is one of the sensors. i forget which one . cam position sensor i think. its not built into the distributor like the SI and stuff has it. its seperate. u can plug it and run a si dist instead and just re wire the 2 wires for it. only 1 Zc is stamped ZC on the block im pretty sure. the rest are d16a9 or d16's from earlier integras. what does the one u are getting say exactly on the block? and what yr is it going in?

Infact the second engine on the little picture is with a vacuum advance timing . Look at the the distributor, there is a thing the is for the V.A.Timing...
Infact the engine is ZC(the stamp).
My research shows that the dizzy from later versions can bolt to the 1st gen brown ZC but only with one bolt instead of 3.Maybe the dizzy on the first engine(the one I can buy) is from SOHC ZC/D16A6(89/91) or something like this...
I got a tomic in http://www.thezcr.com and there we decided that the engine is the same like the second one but with some modifications , I still do not know what ecu it is using...
The engine is putted on 4th gen civic hatch now and maybe I will put it in my 4th gen civc sedan 4wd.I know it will not bolt right in but will make it fit with some more work...
The question is should I buy the engine(as I know the ZCs are the best DOHC non vtec 1.6 engines) or just to go and buy D16A8, D16A9, D16Z5 .

the one that says ZC on the block will bolt direcctly into a 88-91 body with no mods needed. ive had one. the ones that say d16a9 or the like , will not bolt directly in. the drivers mount is different. its on the head instead of how ours is. ive had both and the regular zc is the way to go for easy reasons. an SI distributor will bolt on to the ZC , it just requires use of a washer to get the 3rd leg to hold down. then u can eliminate the cam sensor. or just use the regular zc dist which doesnt have vac advance timing and the cam sensor on the side. either way it will work
ps. the d16a9 motors are no better than an SI motor .. not worth the trouble to fit one in for a gain of like 3HP. i think they are only 109hp compared to 106 on the si . the ZC is the only one that has a better hp rating.

Isnt d16a9 rated at 130hp or I am wrong....?
You mean that ZC is the better choice - right ?
