Default question about re-clearing cf material

im about to buy a spark plug cover(cf material) and the guy sent me a picture of it and says it needs a re-clear. would i just use some 2k grit paper and sand it smooth and re-clear it? need some help/point in right direction

yea sanding the item will work. you will need to sand a good bit with 2000 and may want to go with something a bit more heavy and work your ways back. 1000 would be good and also leave a good grit for the new clear to grab onto. Be careful not to go too much and if you start to see black when you are sanding you have hit carbon fiber and can destroy how it looks when you clear it.
