question about power locks, mirrors, and windows for 96 dx hatch.
if i got a 96 hatch, is there a way where i can change the side view mirrors, door locks, and windows to be powered instead of manual?
You could install a aftermarket kit or opt to get Si/Ex doors from a 96 and up Civic. The only problem you would have to run the wiring for the accessories in order for it to work.
alot more than factory. and you have to custom mount it, since your dx, has the crank for the window. the mirrors, you have to buy a complete mirror, the power ones actually have a motor inside the mirror assembly.
Actually it is not alot more than factory, I believe in Canada here just to do power windows is $200 Canadian per side and about $50 Canadian for door locks per side, as for power mirrors I am not so sure!!
power window motors and door lock motors aren't that much. check it out on ebay. i got my power window motors for about $100, they are made by spal, and they are fast, smooth, and quiet. i also got some DEI power door lock motors for $15 for the pair. they are central locking, so when you lock one side, the other side locks also. i installed these all by myself, and it was pretty straight forward. of course i used SI door panels to give the factory clean look.
