Default Question about MSD 6A ignition system.....

Hi i've searched for this for an hour or so already and i cant find an answer. What i would like to know is if anyone knows if u can add a rev limiter to the msd 6a which does not hav the feature built in?

i would like to know because i bought the base model a while ago and i would like to finally upgrade and have the ignition cut...

any help will be appreciated

You need the soft touch rev control, they have a seperate one that you can wire up to a normal 6a. Lucky for you I just happen to have one just taking up space hit me up if you wanna buy it.

i got a 1994 acura integra ls 2 door and i wanted to build up my block as bets a i can and wanted to know exactly what parts im going to need and also which ones are the best ones to get. also im thinking about throwing a type r head on it and i wanna get the block ready to handle the type r . will a stock ls block handle a type r and not harm the block ? also what would be som good numbers when im lauching and shiftting comin out the whole what are some good rpms to shift at. all i got done to my car is a bootleg cold air-intake (saving for the aemv2 bare with me)dc 4-1 headers and a aexi ehaust with stock piping just the exhaust not the cat back so email me back at mkenyce33@aol.com and let me know your answer to my questions that and remember im new to this

I don't know about that soft touch that someone mentioned, but otherwise... the 6a does not have the circuitry to do the rev limiter.

yeah i know that, but everywhere i search they dont make a specific rev limiter one for the 6A and the rest are advertised for 6T, 6BTM, ect...

help anyone?

don't know about the 'T', but the BTM has a rev limiter plug in it's chassis. All you need to do is buy the 'pill' for the rpm you want.

entirely different subject.........and i know already, i just dont feel like goin out and buyin a whole new one.........i asking about the external soft touch rev limit box and if it was compatible with the 6A because that is what i have.

the best thing to do is just call MSD and ask the techs there. They know more about it than any of us do.
