Default Question about the H22

In the BTCC series, they race Accords(i think its the BTCC). Anyways, they run H22 motors destroked to 2.0L. What are the advantages and disadvantages of destroking a motor like the H22?

Those engines are totaly rebuilt and designed to make 300 WHP.

It's in the engineering. I wouldn't be supprised if they had a 10K redline.

EDIT: and to answer the question. Probably for reliability.

they are only allowed to rev to 8500 RPM max in the JTCC and BTCC.

I'm pretty sure that BTCC requires a 2.0L motor. Honda chose to destroke an H22 rather than bore or stroke a B18.

I'm building a 2.1L H22a......1.65 R/S .99 B/S it should rev high and make some great high end power. There's a thread in the Prelude section on it...
