Default Question about fuel level gauge and sender, will this work?

I am going to put a race dash into my race car and im not going to have the factory fuel gauge in it but I will be using the factory fuel tank and sending unit for now..

My question is, Stewart warner make a fuel level gauge that shows 240ohms empty and 33.5ohms full.. The factory sending unit shows 110ohms empty and 2ohms full.. Would it work if I installed a 130ohm resistor inline so when the factory sending unit is outputting 110ohms(empty) the gauge will see 240ohms(empty)?? I know the full mark will be off but im more concerned with seeing how low on fuel I am running..

Let me know your thought..
