Default Question about cheating emissions

I'm in Maryland

Anyone know anything about those fuel additives that guarantee you to pass emission?

I've got to get my car ( 92 Si) tested by the end of the month and I think I have an exhaust leak. I don't want to get it fixed because I'm doing a swap fairly soon. Will a fuel additive help me pass?

In Maryland you have to spend at least $200 to get your car fixed if you don't pass (trust me, I know firsthand). I'm trying to avoid this for obvious monetary reasons.

Anyone have any suggestions how I can cheat the emissions test?

what is wrong with car now?

The fuel additives are mostly tolulene (sp!) aka Berrymans C12 cleaner.

Unplug one Fuel injector. Don't make it obvious, try to tuck the plug back behind something, but it'll turn that one cylinder into an AIR pump throught he exhaust. Don't beat on it, or try to drive it hard, and be sure to unplug it before getting in line

My friend's turbo built GSR EG passed like this, and I've helped pass countless Mustangs like that too.

Damm your serious?? I never heard of that, cool. Does this affect the engine load tho? Wont it throw a CEL?

wouldn't this read as a diluted sample to the machine? or does that only measure the volumne of exhaust coming out of your tailpipe?

No I don't think so...when I checked my spark plugs once, I didn't push one of the plug wires in all the way when I was putting it all back together.

Engine ran ok without a spark but had rougher acceleration. But no CEL, and my car is OBD-II. If the lumpy engine load and ultra fuel and air rich exhaust running through the system wasn't enough to trigger a CEL, then I seriously doubt you'd get problems with an unplugged FI.
