Default question about breather box on block

today i removed mine on the JDM b18c that is going in because i need to get a .5" 5/8" ID nip brazed in place of the PCV for my vented breather system. when i was cleaning the box after i removed it, i somehow made a little piece of the paint come off on the part that goes into the block, right near the edge. it seemed to scratch off pretty easy near that spot so i decided to sand the entire surface up to the point where the o-ring goes.

what would happen to a piece of paint that comes off of that from the box into the oil galley?? would it have just gotten caught in the pickup and filtered out?

i feel i went overboard by clearing the paint off of that edge but i guess you can never be too careful!
