Default Quaife Lsd problem (need help)

I think i might have posted my problem in the wrong forum (FI):

I have a gsr tranny w/ a quaife lsd and i have run into one big *** problem. I have just rebuilt my motor and just put ther motor and tranny in the car last night. The problem is when i went to put the passenger axle in the tranny it wont go in all the way, as if somethings not right. I called quaife and they said "we have never had that problem w/ a gsr diff before". They also asked me if i inspected the diff before i installed it and i said i paid $800 for it i shouldnt have to worry about that. The point of this story is that the stock axle will not go into the tranny al the way. Its not the axle b/c i have the stock diff and i tried the same axle on the stco diff and it goes in fine. Therfor i have to drop the tranny again and pay somebody to open the trans again and shipp the diff to Quaife. Can somebody tell me how fucked up my luck is

Have you tried looking in there with a flashlight? It might be something simple.

looked into the diff everything looks fine. tried an extra axle and even tried to put a intermediate shaft into the passenger side of the tranny and it still would not go in. a few people said that it might mean the teeth in the diff are different from the ones on the axle b/c i still have the stock diff and that same axle goes all the way in w/ no problem

Does it go far enough in to engage the splies in the Quaife diff (stick an axle in and try to turn it... does the axle spin freely or very hard to turn)? Will it go in if you take off the spring clip? Does the intermediate shaft fit on it's proper side?

yes the intermediate shaft goes in its side perfect. I did take the spring clip off and it still does the same thing. it does go in far enough so i can turn it. when i turn it both axles turn freely but the axle is still not all the way in.(dont know why) I tried the same axle in my stock diff and it goes in fine w/ no problems. wtf
