put wires in wrong order now distributor is shot
ok heres what happened i put the plug wires in the wrong order.... go to start the car...it made a huge back fire, i fixed the order of the wires and now no spark. i tried using a new dizzy and it works fine. what do you think broke in my dizzy so that i can replace it rather then buy a whole new one.

I don't see a way that you can screw up the dizzy doing that. Maybe mess up the plugs. Have you pulled the plugs out to check them?
Yep, like Marauder stated, it shouldn't have harmed the distrubutor, unless...
the kick-back was severe enought to mechanically shock the distributor. Check the rotor and make sure it's secured and hasn't moved.

i dont understand either....the coil and the ignitor were both good. i replaced the ignitor with a brand new one, and then tested the coil. i ended up getting a whole new distributor.
