Default PureONE or Fram?

Im about to change my oil, I use Castrol GTX oil and used to use Fram for Oil filter but a friend recommended me PureONE. What can you guys tell me about the difference between that one and the Fram? What about the oil I use? Is that a decent oil to trust lubricating my engine?

What is most important is that you change the oil and filter at least at the recomended intervals. Pretty much what you use isn't as important if it meets the manufacturer's minimum specs. Castrol GTX is a good product. I prefer to stay away from Fram filters because I question the anti-drainback action and general construction of the filters, although I have no solid evedence to support my position. It's just peace of mind for me to use the OEM filters.

Purolator and PureONE filters are better constructed than FRAM filters. The typical orange FRAM's filter material isn't that great, and they use cardboard endcaps. While OEM filters used to be a good cost-effective option, I believe most of the US-made OEM filters are being manufactured by FRAM now. They used to be made by a Canadian company(Filtech if I recall correctly), and those filters were of nice quality. The FRAM-made filters also use cardboard endcaps and a similar filtration media to the orange FRAMs. If you want to use an OEM filter, I believe the S2000 model is the only one still made in Japan by Toyo-Roki, although this may have changed since the last time I checked. I've been using the small HAMP filters, also made by Toyo-Roki for a while, and I like them since I got them for the same price that the orange FRAMs retail for now. Bosch and Mobile 1 filters are also nice. I forget what the parent company that makes them is, but their unbranded filters are good as well.

Pick up a PureONE filter over fram. I've used them for some time now and I find them as a cheaper alternative to OEM filters.

i would go with pureone also. I remember there was an article years ago comparing the construction of a bunch of oil filters. They cut up the fram and it had cardboard endcaps.
