Default Pulling out H22A

Quick question.....when pulling out the H22A1 motor, does it matter if the car is in neutral or not? Because I believe mine was in 1st gear......

Thanks in advance

Doesn't matter what gear its in when you pull it out. You can manually change gears with your hands when the motor is out anywayz. Just remember to pull the E-brake

do you know what usually causes the gears to be off set? about 2 years ago, my friend had a 1996 Prelude vtec and he changed his clutch. This caused 1st to be where 3rd is and 4th to be where 5th is....any clues? Thanks!

um
maybe because he cant reinstall a transmission?
doing a clutch has nothing to do with the inside of the transmission, and NOTHING should change, he reinstalled the linkages incorrectly.
